A licensed Special Education Teacher is needed to support a Language and Learning Disabilities (LLD) program at a public school in Amherst, MA. This full-time contracted position runs from ASAP through the end of the school year and focuses on serving students with specific learning disabilities or communication impairments.
The teacher will serve as the teacher of record, providing instructional leadership and direct support to students in the LLD program. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with paraprofessionals and support staff, and managing classroom instruction to meet the diverse academic and behavioral needs of students.
Qualifications And Experience
- Valid Massachusetts Special Education teaching license
- Experience working with students who have learning disabilities and/or communication impairments
- Strong skills in IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Ability to collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent classroom management and instructional planning abilities
